Op. Dr. Ö. Bilgehan Poyrazoğlu

Op. Dr. Ö. Bilgehan Poyrazoğlu has been practising medicine since 2002 (20+ years) and has worked as a general surgery specialist since 2012 (13+ years). After graduating from Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, he completed his general surgery residency at Erciyes University between 2007 and 2012 He took part in establishing the Obesity Centre at Niğde University Faculty of Medicine and served as an Assistant Professor there from 2020 to 2022. Since 2025 he has practised at Büyük Anadolu Hospital Darıca.

With his deep knowledge and experience in obesity surgery, he successfully performs modern bariatric surgical methods such as sleeve gastrectomy (gastric sleeve surgery) and gastric bypass. Specialized in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgical techniques, he offers minimally invasive treatment options to his patients.

He also provides comprehensive services in reflux surgery, thyroid surgery, hernia surgery, breast surgery, and colorectal surgery. He is a member of the Turkish Surgical Society, IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity) and TOSS (Turkish Obesity Surgery Society), with seven scientific publications — four of them international — and three book chapters.

With his patient satisfaction-oriented approach, detailed preoperative evaluation process, and regular postoperative follow-up programs, he helps patients follow a structured treatment process. He provides services in Turkish and English, also supporting international patients.

Patients are seen at Büyük Anadolu Hospital Darıca in Darıca, Kocaeli — about 20 minutes from Istanbul's Asian side (Tuzla, Pendik, Kartal) and 30 minutes from Sabiha Gökçen Airport. He treats patients from Istanbul and Kocaeli as well as from abroad.
